Cecilie and I spent a week walking the mountain range south of Sognefjorden in the western part of Norway. Sognefjorden is the Longest (204 km) and Deepest fjord in the World (1308m at it deepest). The mountains around Vik and Fresvik are spectacular, rising to 1500 m straight up from the fjord level. It also contains a lot of rich vegetation and even a large glacier. As a Norwegian, I can't believe I havent been walking these mountains before now :-) We met a nice Dutch couple who had just set up an adventure business in Vik, http://www.sognadventure.no . They provide guided hikes and rent out kayak and mountain bike equipment, so hook up with them when you go there.
Of course, everything is now tracked with GPS and documented with camera:
